OUR STORY

River Vineyard was started over 30 years ago. Our original group gathered weekly and met in homes. They eventually began meeting in a public venue on Sundays.

River Vineyard has been connected to Fountain Vineyard (Gqeberha) for many years. Our church operated as a house church of Fountain Vineyard up until we appointed our first pastor. For many years, Fountain Vineyard supported us by sending preachers to come and speak at our meetings and teams to lead worship.

Chris Morley became our first pastor in 2003. Our church was recognized as a Vineyard church on the same day. Chris led River Vineyard for 15 years. Chris and his wife immigrated to England in 2018. Adrian van der Merwe became our new pastor. He currently serves as our senior pastor. Adrian has a wife named Adele and they have two children. Adrian and Adele grew up in the Western Cape.
